Integrated Professional Studies
Frannie Varker, Ph.D. has taught in the BIPS program since 2019. She teaches Foundations of Education courses at Appalachian State University in the department of Leadership and Educational Studies. Her interest in experiential education stems from her work as a professional facilitator and her academic pursuits in Peace and Conflict Studies and Educational Studies concentrating in Cultural Foundations at UNC Greensboro. Her passion is working with students and encouraging them to recognize their ability to learn and grow in ways that engage them authentically. She has two sons and two English Springer Spaniels that she loves to spend time with when she isn’t teaching and learning in a classroom setting.
